Gertrude Force 1938-2016

Gertrude Force, 77, passed away on June 6, 2016 at Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born in Utica on November 8, 1938 to the late Edward and Lela Roth Coughlin and was a graduate of Sauquoit Valley Central School. On July 30, 1960 she was united in marriage with Neil R. Force in St. Patrick’s Church, Clayville. Neil passed away on September 14, 2012.
Gertrude was most recently employed as a sales clerk for J.C. Penny.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Humble, her two sons, Keith Force and his partner Jeffrey and James Force and his partner Ingrid Hesse, four grandchildren, Sara and Christopher Budlong, Danielle Force, Robert and Audrey Gifford Jr. and Nicholas Force, her two great-granddaughters, Isabelle Force and Charlotte Gifford, two sisters, Joan Totaro and Carolyn LaRock and her former daughter in law, Susan Force.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Clinton Taylor.
Services with interment in Sauquoit Valley Cemetery are under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St. Sauquoit.
