Nancy L. Gelfuso, 73, passed away on August 19, 2016 at the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford with her loving family at her side. She was born in Utica, N.Y. on December 4, 1942, a daughter of the late Ralph and Evelyn Marsden Morgan and was a graduate of Sauquoit Valley Central School.
On July 21, 1962, she was united in marriage with Francis Gelfuso in Holy Trinity Church in Utica, a loving union of 19 years until his death on May 1, 1982.
Prior to her retirement, Nancy was employed as a clerk for the Oneida County Clerk’s Office.
She enjoyed working in her garden and, along with her grandchildren, kept her yard beautifully manicured with their help in picking up sticks.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters and son in law; Denise Gelfuso and Deanna and James DeFazio, her son and daughter in law; David and Gwen Gelfuso, her grandchildren; Shannon, Sabrina, Dominic, Jimmy, Shawna, Giovanna, Angelo and Mario, her great-grandson; Connor and her cousins and best friends; Lucille Humphries and Gerald Talerico.
She was also blessed with the love and companionship of her cat Cappali and her dog Ebony.
Nancy was predeceased by her sisters; Shirley Bowen and Helen Kinne.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 22 at 11:30 at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, 2222 Genesee St., Utica with interment to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
