James Cronan Keenan, 63, passed away on January 10, 2017 in the comfort of his home.
He was born on June 21, 1953 in Hartford, CT., a son of the late John C. and Elizabeth Dunne Keenan and was a graduate of Gramby High School in Gramby, CT. He furthered his education in the electrical field through the I.B.E.W. Local 35.
During the Viet-Nam era, he proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy.
On May 31, 1979 he was united in marriage with Kathy Stubbs in Virginia.
Jim was currently employed as an electrician with Bartell Machinery Systems in Rome.
His memberships included the I.B.E.W. 43 in Syracuse and Wicks-Staley Post 231 of the American Legion in Clayville.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Kathy, his daughter, Melisa Keenan and Adam Miler, his three sons, Patrick Keenan and Audrieanna Raciti, Jason and Renee Keenan and Mark Keenan and Samantha Meier, his ten grandchildren, Dylan, Ryan, Gloria, Elizabeth, Sophia, Adam, James, Wyatt, Morgan and Jenna, his three sisters, Toni and Mel Harding, Bridgette Smith and Maggie and Jim Seery, his four brothers, Billy and Barb Keenan, Davitt Keenan, Joe Keenan and Edward Keenan and many nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank everyone at Bartell Machinery Systems, the doctors and staff at the Faxton Regional Cancer Center and Kathy’s co-workers at Chanatry’s Market for all of their support during Jim’s illness.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, January 28 at 7:00 at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St. Sauquoit. His family will receive visitors from 5:00 until the service.
