Harold K. Ericksen, 89, passed away on January 16, 2017 at the Hawthorn Home at Sitrin Heath Care Center. He was born in Staten Island, NY on October 17, 1927 to the late Stian and Olanda Aaonsen Ericksen and was a graduate of McKee High School on Staten Island.
Harold proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy and on November 23, 1950 was united in marriage with Doris Olsen in Zion Lutheran Church on Staten Island.
Prior to his retirement in 1980, Harold was employed as the manager of the Utica Office of N.C.R.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years; Doris, two daughters and sons in law; Diana and Carl Terkelsen and Donna and Peter Brutto, his son; Peter K. Ericksen, his four grandchildren; Kenneth Terkelsen, Jill and Daniel Christensen, Erica and Erik Leao and their daughter Jiana, and Olivia Brutto and he boyfriend Shawn Hughes, his brother; Roy K. Ericksen, his sisters in law; Edna VanName and Bunny Ericksen and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother; Manger Ericksen and his brother in law; Herbert VanName.
Harold’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Sitrin Health Care for all of their compassion, with special mention of Kathryn, Linda, Shelby, Betty and Christine.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St., Sauquoit.
