Obituary for Leo Daniel "Danny" Malone

Leo Daniel "Danny" Malone
Leo Daniel Malone 1987-2017
Sauquoit

Leo Daniel Malone, “Danny”, 29, passed away peacefully with family and friends at his side. Danny succumbed to a long battle with addiction on March 30 2017.
Danny was born on June 5, 1987 in Utica, the son of Karen (Crowe) Malone and the late Leo “Marty” Malone.
Danny was a 2005 graduate of New Hartford High School and followed in his father’s footsteps working in the asbestos removal industry for Two Brothers Contracting working alongside his brother and close friends.
Danny had a need for speed and loved almost anything with a motor.
He loved fast cars, lifted trucks, four wheelers dirt bikes and Harleys.
He was a great friend and loved by many. Danny was the first person you called with motor trouble as he inherited his mother’s big heart and willingness to help others as well as his father’s attention to detail which always resulted in high quality work
He always stood up for what he believed in and was as stubborn as a person of both Irish and Italian heritage could be.
Danny is survived by his beloved son Maxx whom he was eternally devoted to. He was so proud to earn the title “Dad”.
He is survived by his mother Karen, his “Mema” Judy Crowe (Weise) his twin brother Jim and Jim’s son James, his younger sister Candace, her children Addison and Connor his extended family and countless friends. He was predeceased by his uncles, Shawn Malone and Daniel Crowe.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 4 from 5-8 at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St. Sauquoit.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 at St. Patrick’s/St. Anthony’s Church in Chadwicks.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clayville.
