Elaine R. Garlick 1920-2017
New Hartford

Elaine R. Garlick, 97, passed away April 8, 2107 at the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford. She was born on April 8, 1920 in Madina, N.Y. to the late Erwin and Edna Thayer Rinker. After graduation from high school, Elaine enrolled in Morrisville College and was the Salutatorian of her graduating class.
On January 24, 1942 she was united in marriage with Francis Garlick in Medina, a loving union of 40 years until his death on May 15, 1982.
Elaine worked in various capacities over the years with her last employment being with W.T. Grant in New Hartford.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law; Evelyn Goodson and Bud Edwards of Cassville, her son; Wayne Garlick of Verona, her two sisters and brother in law; Helen Brose of N.C. and Shirley and Bud Ricketts of Ohio, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grand-daughter; Mary Garlick.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 11 from 10-12 at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St. Sauquoit. Funeral Services will follow immediately at 12:00.
Interment will be in Crown Hill memorial Park.
