Stanley J. North, 96, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 20, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
He was born on April 19, 1921 in Clayville to the late John and Marianna Bargiel Maciaskiewicz. Stan was educated in local schools and served with the U.S. Air Force.
On December 20, 1940 he was united in marriage with Marion (Judy) Hubbard, a loving union of 52 years until her death on December 30, 1992.
Stan worked 24 years in maintenance at the Clayville paper mill, then part-time for Agway in New Hartford and Waterville.
He is survived by his grandchildren: Kelly and David Myszkowski of Little Falls, Karla and Tai Stallworth of Rhode Island, and Henry J. III and Kari Walters of Illinois; great-grandchildren: Baylen Walters, Henry J. Walters IV and Virginia Walters; special “son” James Wattenschaidt of Herkimer; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Virginia Walters, on July 14, 2008, his beloved little dog Shadow, and his 8 brothers and sisters.
The family extends heart-felt gratitude to his supportive neighbors, as well as special friends Floy Ann and Rick Baldwin.
Services will be at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St. Sauquoit.
