Memorial Trees

Subhra Basuthakur
My Dear Near sister, Alicia, the last time I called you when driving back from Toronto, hoping we could meet up for dinner nearby, you were in the garden, planting potato seedlings. The next time we met after that, it was at Sitrin. How I wish we could have met that day! But then I know how much you also enjoyed gardening, plants, and nature as a whole. One more Tree on earth in your memory Al, we love you always.

To my dear friend, wonderful neighbor and co-worker. Alicia Kuehn and I shared many garden stories, cuttings, transplants and harvests. When I moved and could not bring them with me, she took in my cats, loved and cared for them. She was truly one of the most caring and giving persons I have ever known. I will miss her and always remember her as the kind soul she was. I think she would love the idea of a tree planted in her memory.
